Oragenics, Inc. (OGEN) is a U.S.-based biotechnology firm primarily focused on creating treatments for infectious diseases. Among its pipeline assets are two vaccine candidates designed to combat the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2): NT-CoV2-1, an intranasal formulation, and Terra CoV-2, an intramuscular option. Beyond its infectious disease focus, Oragenics also has other experimental treatments under development, including LPT3-04, targeting weight loss, and SMaRT Replacement Therapy, a topical solution aimed at preventing dental cavities. Strategic alliances are also a part of its operations. This includes a licensing deal with Noachis Terra Inc. for patents and biological resources related to pre-fusion coronavirus spike proteins. Additionally, Oragenics is collaborating with Precigen, Inc. and ILH Holdings, Inc. on the advancement and market introduction of MU1140 and its associated compounds. Established in 1996, the company, formerly known as Oragen, Inc., maintains its headquarters in Tampa, Florida.
