The company operates through two primary segments: Enterprise Solutions and Industrial Solutions. Its Enterprise Solutions division furnishes comprehensive cabling (copper and fiber) and connectivity infrastructure, encompassing interconnect panels, racks, enclosures, and signal extension/matrix switching systems. These offerings are vital for modern applications such as local area networks, data centers, access control, 5G, fiber deployments, and building automation. Additionally, this segment provides power, cooling, and airflow management products crucial for mission-critical data center operations, alongside complete copper and fiber network systems. It caters to diverse sectors including commercial real estate, hospitality, healthcare, education, finance, government, and broadband/wireless service providers, with its solutions deployed in venues like sports stadiums, data centers, military facilities, and academic institutions. The Industrial Solutions segment specializes in robust infrastructure components and on-machine connectivity systems. Its extensive product range features industrial Ethernet switches, network management software, routers, firewalls, gateways, I/O connectors/systems, and a wide array of specialized industrial cables (including Ethernet, optical fiber, Fieldbus, and IP/networking cables). These products are integral to network and fieldbus infrastructure, sensor and actuator connectivity, and efficient power, control, and data transmission. Furthermore, it supplies heat-shrinkable tubing and wire management products for organizing and protecting cable assemblies. Its clientele spans distributors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), installers, and end-users. Originally established in 1902 and based in St. Louis, Missouri, the company transitioned from Belden CDT Inc. to Belden Inc. in May 2007.
